@lordmortis Well, theoretically it might not. The consultation group they describe seems to actually be a good way to manage the decision-making, assuming the expert advice is actually evidence-based.

Maybe they'll surprise us all and come out with rapid bus lanes or something.

*Somebody* in MRD clearly thinks that the solution to traffic problems is more roads...in ditches! See also the Charles Street and West Coast Highway planning studies.

@miiichael Yeah, I think that the consultation group they describe here is actually their response to the public outrage about those previous proposals.

In theory, this kind of representative consultation is actually excellent practice and a huge shift from MRD...but I know a lot of people will be more willing to believe it when they see the outcomes...
